let's say, I m converting my 30" natural gas sove for propane gas, can I connect 2 (barbeque gas grill type) tanks to my 30" gas stove?, whats the working pressure that is required to operate my 30" sove?, on average 3 meals a day cooking , how long will it last the gas per tanks.
propane gas companys wants me to buy the gas tank and they are expensive , also if I rent it they want me to refill it twice a year but just for cooking I will not use that much.
that's why I'm cosidering using the 2 small 20 gallon propane tanks, is there any safety concerns why I shouldn't do it?
thanks for any feed back.
Energy security + how to get rid of the electricity grid! LOL. A Melbourne company has been developing a cleaner electricity for Australians which could be implemented as early as next year..... but, as with solar thermal technology, will most probably be marketed everywhere else in the world first, uhh..... Traditional electricity generation is inherently wasteful. More than half the energy content of the fuel escapes from the power station's cooling tower as waste heat. In addition, more than 5% of the electricity generated is lost in transmission in the journey from grid to end user. An alternative approach is to generate electricity within homes and commercial buildings using a device called a fuel cell essentially a large battery with a replenishable fuel source. In Manchester, Mike Mason advocated fuel cells that use solid-oxide technology. These can run on natural gas, ethanol or various other fuels, including the gases produced when making biochar. Mason described domestic fuel cells that can produce electricity from gas more efficiently than even the best modern power stations and at a lower cost. As a bonus, because the generation happens at the point of consumption, transmission losses are minimised and any heat created can be used for hot water and radiators..... www.guardian.co.uk Ceramic Fuel Cells opens Germany plant - Melbourne-based alternative energy company Ceramic Fuel Cells Ltd (CFC) has opened its large-scale fuel cell manufacturing plant in Germany ...
NATURAL GAS or PROPANE use it either way!
STOVE & OVEN, WORKS GREAT, VERY CLEAN!
Did I mention it is CLEAN? Super scrubbed clean.
The oven door glass window is VERY clean so you can see your baking food. The oven light works too!
Hotpoint brand, off-white cream color, measures 30 inches wide.
Has Propane Converter on it!(closeup shown in the picture)
You will need to cap off the natural gas hole to use it with propane.
A propane converter kit costs as much as . This stove has the hookup already, just in case you need it. (we used it with natural gas)
My question: Is it "plug and play" or do I still need to buy parts to make it propane??
A new study from Resources for the Future and National Energy Policy Institute tested out ways to cut down on oil imports, and found the single largest saving could come from switching US long-haul 18-wheelers to run on natural gas. Clean Skies News' Margaret Ryan spoke with T. Boone Pickens, chairman of BP Capital, who has been advocating that switchover -- as one of several ways to reduce oil imports and improve US national security -- since 2008. They discussed the status of those efforts and Pickens' predictions for Congressional action.
I've tried using the regulator in the stove but no gas comes out. When I used the regulator on the 20# tank and bypassed the stove's regulator, too much gas came out (although we did successfully bake a nice pizza!) Is my stove set up for natural gas instead? How do I find out?
This is a temporary hook-up until we get a permanent tank installed outdoors.
