is it bad if i spilled a bunch of water in and electric stove burner?

as long as i don't turn it on til the water dries, i will be safe, right?

That’s right. I wash my elements in the dishwasher. Remove the element from the stove, make sure it is dry, including the socket it plugs into, plug it back in and you should be good to go.
