How can I fix my gas stove burner? It won't light. The other 3 work fine. I spilled some milk on it.?

I have since cleaned the burner components, but it didn't look bad and it wasn't sticky. I have no idea why it won't work now.

if it is a pilot light style the problem is on the side of the burner. take the cover off your stove and look closely at the side of the burner head. there are 2 or 3 pin size holes that go up the side of the burner right where the pilot tube comes into the head. Take a pin and clean out these 3 holes and your non working burner will light.
if you have pilot lights for each burner, the pilot for your "broken" burner could be the problem. the pilots for each burner are usually beneath the splash guard around the gas feed for each burner. be careful though, that top can be VERY sharp.
First off when you turn it on is gas still coming out. If gas still comes out is there a clicking noise when you turn it to light. If you don’t hear a clicking noise or you do but it doesn’t light, then your lighting mechanism is broken. There has to be something to create a spark in one sopt either facing the wall or the front of the stove. When did you spill milk on it and how much. Let it dry out for a coulpe days and try it agian. If not you may have to just have someone fix it.
I agree, you may need to make sure the pilot light is lit.
try to light the burner with a match let burn for 5 minuets shut off and try again
Usually the burners share a pilot or ignitor, so if three are working, it is your burner.
You may have to remove the burner and poke a straightened out paper clip into all the holes to clean out the clogged milk that is in there.
Chances are the clog is all the way back where the burner sits on the gas pipe in the stove. Just wiggle the burner and you should be able to see how to remove it. They are made to be removed for cleaning.
Hope this helps.
If you have a common pilot, you will have individual tubes from the pilot (in the centre of the stove top). The tube to the element not working could be plugged or dirty but more likely it needs to be adjusted (positionally). Check to see if the others are the same distance from the pilot light. If this one isn’t adjust it.
